Transfer of personal data to Karlstad University Kau Card system

Description of the service

The KAU card is a personal card that functions as a keycard, library card and print card.

Processing of personal data

The following data is sent by Karlstad University's identity provider:

The Kau Card system contains name, civic number, address (students) and contact details that one has personally provided in Ladok (students) or in Kaucat (employees). It also contains organisation data or course data that is used to ensure the correct physical access to the buildings at Karlstad University. Contact and address details are used for the purposes of administration in the system.

Personal information is processed within the framework of public interest. Personal information must be transferred in order to give you the user access to the service.

How to access, rectify and delete the personal data

For access, rectification and erasure of your personal data, contact the Personal data controller.

Rectification of personal data that was transferred at the moment of login has to be done in the identity provider that you used to log in. This information is corrected in the service at the moment of the first login after the personal information has been corrected in the identity provider.

Personal data controller

The personal data controller is Karlstad University. According to EU GDPR legislation you have the right to (free of charge) find out what details we keep about you and, if necessary, get any errors corrected. You can also request that your information be deleted or restricted.

If you wish to request information then you should contact Karlstad University. If you are not satisfied with how your personal details are handled then you have the right of compliant to The Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection, https://www.imy.se/other-lang/ which is the regulatory authority.
